Abstract

The first case of West Nile virus infection occurred in New York in 1999 and, since then, several cases of meningo-encephalitis with a variety of clinical syndromes have been reported. This case report is the first to our knowledge of a renal transplant recipient who acquired West Nile virus infection and presented with meningo-encephalitis and other unusual neurological sequelae with high serum and cerebrospinal fluid titers.
