MPHO Type:
Time to detection:
1 - 2,475 days
Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence:
Impact of C. pneumoniae on bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) development using donor-recipient serology obtained before transplantation in a cohort of 76 lung transplant recipients (LTR).
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
The risk of developing BOS was 75.0% in the case of a primary seromismatch for C. pneumoniae (D+/R-), whereas a reverse mismatch had a risk of 4.6% (likelihood ratio 9.8, P=0.02). Possibility of wrongly categorizing C. pneumoniae serostatus in LTR as seroconversion within the 6-month sampling period before transplantation.
