Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence: 
Abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, vomiting and renal impairment; diagnosed with colitis. Subsequent hemicolectomy sample revealed colitis induced by acute phase chagas disease; bone marrow demonstrated extracellular T. cruzi trypomastigotes and amastigotese. Recipient died of postoperative complications.
