Evidence suggestive of prior refractive surgery in the transplanted cornea

Record number:
706
Adverse Occurrence type:
MPHO Type:
Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence:
The use of corneal tissues from donors previously operated with laser intrastromal keratomileusis (LASIK), photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) may result in significant ametropia and anisometropia, abnormal anterior curvature, abnormal low thickness following penetrating keratoplasty.
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
Evidences of the following alterations of the transplanted cornes: central, mild scar in the anterior stroma, finding of an interface in the transplanted cornea, abnormal ametropia and/or anisometropia, abnormally low thickness of the graft, abnormal anterior corneal curvature
