Three cases were reported of Streptococcus viridans endophthalmitis with the same bacterium on the donor cornealscleral rim and in the recipient infection.This organism was shown by these scientists to survive 24 hours or more  in MK storage medium containing gentamicin.

Level 2. Possible. Same organism in donor tissue and recipent's infection.
