Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence: 
A fever developed with severe headache and generalized myalgia 5 days after PBSCT. On the 11th day, generalized nonpruritic maculopapular rash was observed. The donor’s serum tested positive for antibodies against Orientia tsutsugamushi by indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA).

Sequence identity confirmed by nested polymerase chain reaction in donor and recipient
