Case 1: Several hours after the operation the graft was white, and loose sutures and severe
mucoidal secretion were observed. Case 2: Nine days later a white plaque was observed in
the graft. The following day the patient reported intense pain, the graft was white, and loose sutures and severe
mucoidal secretion were observed.
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
Two case reports of Acinetobacter corneal graft ulcer and endophthalmitis. In both cases, culture of
donor rim specimens yielded Candida and Acinetobacter
resistant to all antibiotics but colistin.
