Intestinal strongyloidiasis without hyperinfection syndrome following pancreas-left kidney transplantation.
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
Documented transmission in two recipients from the same donor (liver, pancreas-left kidney). Both recipients were seronegative before transplantation and did not live in an endemic area. Donor was from Equador, with possible hyperinfection. Had received steroids before organ retrieval in the ICU. Results included positive serology and eosinophilia.
