The development of HPV-associated skin lesions on a transplanted hand has never been described thus far (2009).

Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence:
Skin warts scattered over the dorsum of both thumbs of a bilateral forearm recipient.
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
HPV (human papilloma virus) plane lesions demonstrated on histopathology (verrucae vulgares), successfully treated with topical cidofovir gel. Pretransplant serology of donor and recipient is not provided, but most likely this is a donor-derived disease.
