Ready to upload
Record number:
1432
Adverse Occurrence type:
MPHO Type:
Time to detection:
5 months
Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence:
Seroconversion
Demonstration of imputability or root cause:
Retrospective analysis started once the donor was discovered to be an intrevenous drug abuser. Donor's frozen blood sample at the time of transplant positive for IgG anti-HIV, IgM negative. Recipient IgG and IgM anti-HIV negative at the time of bone marrow transplant. Seroconversion at 5 months post transplantation, with different pattern of antibody response of donor and recipient obtained from immunoblotting analysis (continued antigenic stimulation due to the presence of HIV infected cells, transient production of IgM anti-HIV).
Imputability grade:
3 Definite/Certain/Proven
