Expert comments for publication:
Elegant documentation of a very rare occurrence of Bombay phenotype. This was not anticipated as the transfusing institution does not perform antibody screens prior to transfusion. The donor was documented to have Bombay phenotype both by absence of binding with a lectin with H specificity and compatibility with units from a known Bombay donor.
