Hepatic schistosomiasis is a well-recognized cause of chronic liver disease and portal hypertension. There are no previous reports of schistosomiasis post liver transplantation. We report on 2 cases of schistosomiasis in liver transplant recipients--a case of gastric schistosomiasis and a case of hepatic schistosomiasis. A discussion of the pathology of schistosomal infection and a rationale for screening potential liver transplant recipients from endemic areas follows. %B Liver Transpl %7 38686 %V 11 %P 1603 - 7 %8 Dec %G eng %N 12 %M 16315308 %R 10.1002/lt.20622
